What this covers

This policy describes how Eyra collects and uses information on this website and during early access sessions. Product features may gain more detailed documentation as they ship.

What we collect

On this site, if you request an invite, we collect your email and the time of signup. During product sessions, we collect and store session audio, transcripts, session records, and the notes and manuscript material derived from your conversations.

How the product handles a session

Your voice is sent to OpenAI's Realtime API to run the live conversation and transcription. Eyra stores session audio in cloud object storage. Transcripts, session records, structured notes, and manuscript material are stored in a hosted database so the product can remember across sessions and build your biography. These providers process data on Eyra's behalf to operate the service.

How we use it

Emails are used to contact you about early access and product updates. Session content is used to provide the biographer experience you requested. We do not sell your personal data or use your story to train our own models. OpenAI states that data sent through its API is not used to train its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Under OpenAI's default data controls, API content may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days; different controls may apply if configured for the account. You can read OpenAI's API data controls.

What “private by default” means

Your story is not published, placed on a public profile, or shared with family automatically. It does not mean that session data stays only on your device: Eyra, its infrastructure providers, and its AI provider process and store data as described above. Authorized operators may access it when needed for support, safety, security, or legal obligations.

Retention & control

We retain session content so your life record can continue across conversations. During early access, export and deletion requests are handled manually: reply to any Eyra email to request a copy or deletion of your invite and session data. Some limited information may be retained where required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

Product boundary

Eyra is a reflective writing and life-review tool. It is not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service, and it should not be used as a substitute for professional help.
